From VistApedia
The Spinal Cord Dysfunction (SCD) Registry, is a local VISTA (Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture) computer database used for clinical, administrative, and outcome purposes in tracking veterans with spinal cord injury or disorders, such as multiple sclerosis(MS).
These 133 local registries transmit through secure health level 7 transmissions to the Austin Automation Center, where they are stored on the same Oracle database used for the National Patient Care Database.
VHA’s Health Services Research and Development Service and the Paralyzed Veterans of America developed the SCD Registry in 1995.
