- Kernel
- A set of VistA software routines that function as an intermediary between the host operating system and the VistA Application packages such as Laboratory, Pharmacy, IFCAP, etc. The Kernel provides a standard and consistent user and programmer interface between Application packages and the underlying M implementation.
